</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Jon learned the offense from Bill Walsh, Mike Holmgren, and Andy Reid in San Francisco. It's interesting to note, though, that Walsh invented the scheme out of necessity in Cincinnati when a small but accurate Virgil Carter was forced to replace golden-armed Greg Cook. Carson Palmer is 21-of-80 (26.3 percent) with an 11.2 YPA and 6:9 TD-to-INT ratio on pass attempts over 20 yards the past two years after going 48-of-127 (37.8 percent) with a 14.4 YPA and 20:5 TD-to-INT ratio in 2005-2006. His arm is no longer suited to a downfield attack. Gruden assured the Bengals will "make everything right" for Palmer to return.
